COMMON QUESTIONS
Things people often want to know
-
A chemistry session is a free, informal 30-minute conversation to see if we're a good fit. There's no obligation and no sales pitch — it's simply a chance for us both to get a sense of whether working together feels right.
-
All three can be valuable, but they work differently. Therapy typically focuses on processing past experiences and understanding patterns rooted in your history. Mentoring draws on the mentor's own experience to guide and advise — it's directional, and the mentor often shares what worked for them.
Coaching is different from both. It's forward-focused and non-directive — I won't tell you what to do or draw on my own career to steer you. Instead, I'll help you think more clearly, understand what's driving how you're showing up, and find your own way forward.
That said, I do bring over 15 years of NHS leadership experience to the work — not to advise, but to understand the environment you're operating in without needing it explained.
-
Yes — many people have coaching funded or part-funded through CPD budgets or wellbeing schemes. If that's something you'd like to explore, we can discuss how to approach that conversation with your employer.
-
Yes. Everything discussed in sessions is confidential. The only exception would be if you disclosed something that raised a serious safeguarding concern — in which case I would discuss next steps with you before taking any action. This is covered in the client agreement we sign before beginning.
-
That's exactly what the chemistry session is for. We can talk through where you are and what you're hoping for, and I'll give you an honest view of what might suit you best — even if that's not working with me.
